Organic Exchange is a tax exempt, non-profit organization committed to expanding organic agriculture, with a specific focus on increasing the production and use of organically grown fibers such as cotton. Our sponsor companies are dedicated to creating fair, transparent and sustainable supply chains to make products like clothing, home furnishings, personal care products and food that meet basic human needs. By linking organic agricultural practices with fair, sustainable and transparent business practices, we can restore and protect the biodiversity found in the world’s rural communities, enhance the lives and livelihoods of those who farm, labor and live in these communities and improve the food and water supplies on which we all depend.

Organic Trade Association (OTA) is a membership-based business association that focuses on the organic business community in North America. OTA's mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy

Organic Fiber Education Initiative, a program of Organic Exchange, will be maintaining and developing educational materials such as the “About Organic Cotton” website, the “Symbiosis” booklet and the “Woven Through Life” brochure. The Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC) was founded in 1993 by a group of organic farmers certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The cooperative currently represents approximately 25 organic cotton farmers who produce 4,000 - 5,000 bales of organic cotton each year.
